The Sigma Beta Club is a youth auxiliary group for young men between the ages of 8-18 which operates under the auspices of the Beta Rho Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in Charlotte, NC. The Sigma Beta Club provides services to youths and their families with the goal of fostering the development of youth into effective leaders. Donating to the Sigmas of Charlotte Foundation is simple, please see the instructions below. Before you proceed with providing your donation, we want you to know why we need for you to donate and most importantly, how the money will be spent.The Foundation will allocate the money as follows:
- 40% of the funds will be used to pay rent and fees for a Facility to house the following programs:
- Sigma Beta Club (Beta Rho Sigma) – a youth organization designed to offer unique opportunities to exemplify wholesome values, leadership skills, educational enhancement, business training and development, and social and cultural awareness to male youths at a most critical stage in their personal development.
- Facilitated sessions to improve the relationship between Black Men/Boys with Charlotte Mecklenburg Police
- Men’s Shop that will sell gently used suits and uniforms to disadvantage men in the Charlotte community to help them transition into the workplace
- 20% will be invested in socially responsible funds to expand existing programs and fuel new programs
- 20% will be allocated towards scholarships that will be awarded annually to Black men and disadvantaged citizens that reside in Charlotte, NC and vicinity.
- 10% will be used for administrative fees and financial auditing and reporting.
